WE CAN PERFORM SEVERAL TYPES OF TESTS TO VERIFY COMPLIANCE TO SPECIFICATION

Rockwell/Knoop/Vickers and file hardness on processed surfaces and cross-sections.

Measurement and visual representation of the hardness, depth, and quality of the surface compound layer on nitrided parts, measured per AMS2753 and others.

Total case depth on nitrided parts, measured per applicable standard.

Cross-sectional examination of compound layer, diffusion zone, and plating thickness.

ASTM B117 salt spray/fog cabinet for corrosion-resistance qualification, whether processed by us or yours.

Coating/plating thickness verification using calibrated instruments such as X-ray or microscope, per applicable aerospace specification standards.

Plating adhesion verification using multiple test methods such as: bend, destructive/impact, penetrant, or burnishing, per ASTM B571.

This will depend upon the surface conditions that your application requires. TS Tech Nickel offers surface treatments that can improve the following characteristics of the surfaces of your part: hardness, wear and abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, weld spatter resistance, oil retention, lubricity, lower coefficient of friction and, in certain cases, achieve a decorative or color finish.

Yes! TS Tech Nickel is ITAR registered. We are also working toward obtaining our CMMC Level 2 cybersecurity certification that many government contracts will soon require. In addition to that, we maintain an FFL license and have plenty of experience processing both firearm components and other defense industry parts that are used in a multitude of applications in support of the warfighter.

TS Tech Nickel’s processes conform to several different industrial specifications. Our salt bath nitriding (SBN) processes, including SBN, QP, QPQ, and SBN 300 all conform to Aerospace Material Specification 2753 (AMS2753). Our electroless nickel plating process conforms to Aerospace Material Specification 2404 (AMS2404), AMS/MIL-C-26074, and
portions of American Society of Testing and Materials B733 (ASTM B7233). Lastly, our hard chrome plating process conforms to Aerospace Material Specification 2460 (AMS2460). If you don’t see your specification here, or if you have an OEM specification on your print, please contact us to see if our processes are capable of achieving your requirements.
